Java & Jeans

Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 10:00am

Java and Jeans is an alternative Shabbat morning service that includes: learning and experimenting with Jewish prayer, and a lively and meaningful Torah discussion. Join us for everything you wanted to know about Jewish prayer but were afraid to ask. If you’ve ever felt like you wanted a deeper meaning behind the prayers, or if you are just looking for something different from the main sanctuary service then join us. Wear your jeans, come as you are and drink some coffee. This service is facilitated by Rabbi Noam Raucher.

The Whole Megillah! Classes led by Cantor Elias Roochvarg

Beginning Wednesday, February 8, 2012

Join us for classes in reading from the Megillah. Classes will take place on four Wednesday nights: February 8, 15, 22 and 29 after Minyan. We read it every year. Start to finish….from an actual Megillah (scroll). And it has its own trope (melody), used for no other text. But we need more folks to participate. To that end, I will be teaching this fun skill to all who wish to acquire it.  Call the Clergy Office 704-362-2796, or email me at eroochvarg@templeisraelnc.org to reserve your spot.
